Mandated State and County Surcharges

The City of Grand Terrace is mandated pursuant to the California Government Code, Penal Code and Vehicle Code to assess state and local surcharges on all parking citations.

This surcharge is passed directly to the County and is not kept by the City of Grand Terrace. This surcharge is in addition to the parking fine. The surcharge is currently $12.50 for parking citations; and $2.00 for every $10 of the fine for parking or blocking disabled parking spaces.

The registered owner or lessee of the vehicle cited shall within 21 days of issuance, either:

1) Pay the parking penalty or,
2) Submit a written appeal online at www.CitationProcessingCenter.com or mail an appeal with any supporting information to the address shown below. Your payment or appeal request must be received within 21 days of the citation date. Submitted documents will not be returned.

WARNING: Ignoring the time limits of a citation will result in additional penalties and eventually a lien hold being placed on your vehicle registration with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Vehicles with five (5) or more citations will be impounded and immobilized pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 22651 (i)(1) and 22651.7.

Paying a Citation:
Parking citations may be paid by mail or by going to: www.CitationProcessingCenter.com

If making a payment by mail, send the proper amount of penalty in a money order or check, payable to: CITY OF GRAND TERRACE.
Please DO NOT send cash. Enclose the notice of parking violation with your payment and/or proof of correction(s). Write your citation number on your payment. There is a $25 service fee charged for all returned checks.

Payment Arrangement Program
To apply, submit an Indigent Person Payment Request within 60 days of the issuance of the parking citation to Data Ticket (Citation Processing Center).
