FPPC Form 460 – Campaign Statements
The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Form 460 is filed by recipient committees to report campaign contributions and expenditures. This form may be used for various required filings, including:

  • Termination Statements
  • Special Odd-Year Reports
  • Amendments to previously filed statements
Who needs to file?
Candidate-controlled committees, political action committees, and other recipient committees that raise or spend funds in connection with elections.

Filing Deadlines:
Semi-Annual Statements: January 31 and July 31
Preelection Statements: Typically 40 days and 12 days before an election
Quarterly Statements: April 30, July 31, October 31, and January 31 (for certain committees)
Termination Statements: Filed upon closing a committee

Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700)

Public officials who make or participate in governmental decisions are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests, commonly known as Form 700. This form promotes transparency by disclosing financial interests that may influence decision-making.

Who needs to file?
Elected officials, board and commission members, designated employees, and consultants who are required under the agency’s conflict-of-interest code.

Filing Deadlines:
Annual Statements: April 1
Assuming Office Statements: Within 30 days of taking office
Leaving Office Statements: Within 30 days of leaving office
Candidate Statements: Due at the same time as nomination papers

FPPC Form 806 – Agency Report of Public Official Appointments

The FPPC Form 806 is used to disclose additional compensation that public officials receive when they appoint themselves to positions on boards, commissions, or committees—either within their own agency or another public agency.

Key Information:
  • Required under FPPC Regulation 18702.5
  • Each agency must post a single, consolidated Form 806 on its website
  • The form must list all compensated appointed positions
  • It must be updated whenever there are changes in compensation or appointments
Each agency must post on its website a single Form 806 which lists all the paid appointed positions to which an official will vote to appoint themselves. When there is a change in compensation or a new appointment, the Form 806 is updated to reflect the change.

Who needs to file?
Local agencies must maintain and publish this form; it applies to public officials who appoint themselves to compensated positions.

Filing Deadlines:
Initial Posting: On or before January 1 each year
Updates: As needed whenever new appointments or compensation changes occur (promptly after the change)
