A General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Grand Terrace on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, to elect one (1) Mayor and one (1) Council Member to a four-year term each and at which there will be submitted to the voters the following measure:

Shall the measure, establishing a general Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT Measure) imposing a maximum tax rate of 10% of hotel charges upon guests staying in hotels (as defined) and generating approximately $10,000 (current estimate) to $250,000 (if a major hotel is developed within the City of Grand Terrace) in annual revenue until ended by voters, be adopted?

Prior to soliciting or receiving campaign contributions, a candidate must file Form 501, Candidate Intention Statement, with the City Clerk. The form is available at the City Clerk's office or can be found online at

An officeholder or candidate who receives contributions totaling $2,000 within a calendar year qualifies as a recipient committee and must file a Form 410 with the Secretary of State within 10 days of qualifying.  When filing the Form 410, include a $50 payment made payable to the Secretary of State. If your committee has not yet reached the $2,000 threshold, mark the “not yet qualified” box. The $50 fee is requested at this time but is not legally required until the group qualifies as a committee. The form is available at the City Clerk’s office or can be found online at
